Melissa Staiger is a Brooklyn based non-objective painter of American and Cherokee descent. Staiger received a BFA from Maryland Institute, College of Art and a MFA from Pratt Institute, NYC.; She is included in the Flat Files at the Janet Kurnatowski Gallery, Brooklyn, NY. Her work is shown nationally across the country and she curates art exhibitions. Staiger is involved in the New York art community and is part of Amerinda. She recently was awarded the Robert Rauschenberg Artist Residency in Fall of 2013.
